Lesson 3: Cooling During Treatment

Cooling is not always required, but it is an added layer of protection and comfort. Its use is
determined by skin response, treatment area, and overall treatment conditions.

Cooling can be used before, during, or after treatment.

Use it based on:

  • Skin tone
  • Area being treated
  • Client comfort
  • Skin response

You can continue cooling before the client leaves and provide them with an ice pack or another
cooling option to take with them and use on the treated area if needed.
