Lesson 4: Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS)

HS is a chronic inflammatory condition that affects hair follicles and glands, most commonly in the
underarms, groin, and inframammary areas. It presents as nodules, abscesses, and recurring lesions.

Active HS should not be treated.

If there is redness, swelling, or open lesions

→ Do not treat. Work around affected areas or reschedule treatment as needed.

If the skin is calm
→ Treat cautiously and monitor response.
